Most personally identifiable information the college maintains about a student is considered student education records, including (other than Directory Information, defined later):

• grades
• student's class schedule
• disability status
• academic standing
• Social Security Number
• assigned student ID number

FERPA applies regardless of the format in which the information is stored. For instance, student education records may be included in:

• a paper document in the Enrollment Services office.
• a computer printout in your office
• a class list on your desktop
• a computer display screen
• an e-mail message
• written notes you have taken during an advising session
