Filiberto Bencomo, Latino Programs

Filiberto was born and raised in Mexico. He moved to the United States in 1999 when he was 14 years old. He attended South Medford High School and graduated in 2003. He earned a B.S. degree in Health and PE from Southern Oregon University in 2007. He is currently working toward a master’s degree in Business Administration and is scheduled to graduate in June 2012.

Prior to joining RCC, he worked for six years as a fitness specialist and personal trainer in the Rogue Valley. During that time, he also worked with the Southern Oregon Educational Service District as a mentor/tutor.  He has worked at RCC for the past 2½ years as the Latino Programs (now Latin Services) coordinator. He assists with Helping Oregon Latinos Advance (H.O.L.A), and the Oregon Leadership Institute, and he coordinates the annual Educación, un Mundo de Oportunidades (EMO) event.  He also serves as a recruiter, working mainly in the Medford area.
