A brief overview of what it is and how the program works. Each high school in Jackson, Josephine and Klamath Counties has a contract with Rogue Community College to provide the opportunity for students to earn college credits in a selected group of high school classes. Certain criteria is placed on awarding that credit, and if the student and instructor meet the requirements, the courses are transcripted at RCC. RCC has a list of courses available for high school articulation which have been selected by RCC instructors in collaboration with high school teachers. Specific competencies (or in some cases, the actual RCC course outline) have been created for each class. High schools select courses to articulate from the RCC list based on a match with their curriculum and the RCC requirements. RCC only articulates with high schools and high school teachers who have signed a yearly contract. If all requirements are met, which vary with each class, but all include earning an A or B for the required coursework, completing the paperwork, and paying for the credits, the student is awarded college credit at Rogue Community College. There is no distinction on a student’s college transcript between 2+2 classes taught at the high school and the same class taught at the college. When a student is ready to obtain a copy of their transcript, they can go to the RCC website at www.roguecc.edu, select the High School Outreach link, and then go to How to Order Your Transcript. They can also contact the Registrar’s office on either the Redwood or Riverside campuses. Check out |
