Description
Exhibit: Peek and Townsend help us to contemplate our cultural fears and the things we refuse to examine. Peeke’s two dimensional mixed media juxtaposition of idealized images of men against the images of real men encourages us to question societies’ concepts of beauty and focus on the complex and suppressed relationship of men to their physical form in a public venue. Townsend’s use of found and salvaged objects explores our cultural fears, unifying us by our imperfections, bonding us by our faults and shortcomings and the things we refuse to examine.
