FireHouse Gallery

Artwork by local, regional, national, and international emerging artists which challenges preconceived ideas and attitudes, is featured in RCC's FireHouse Gallery.  A variety of art educates and inspires viewers from the college and community.  First Friday Art Night receptions are held monthly at the gallery.

An annual highlight of the FireHouse exhibit schedule is a one-month showing of work donated by local artists for the Black, White & the Blues art auction and dance.

The gallery is located at the corner of H and Fourth Streets in the Historic City Hall, Grants Pass, Oregon.  Our hours are Tuesday - Friday, 11:30am to 4:30pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm, or tours by appointment.

Peek and Townsend help us to contemplate our cultural fears and the things we refuse to examine.
Peeke’s two dimensional mixed media juxtaposition of idealized images of men against the images of real men encourages us to question societies’ concepts of beauty and focus on the complex and suppressed relationship of men to their physical form in a public venue. Townsend’s use of found and salvaged objects explores our cultural fears, unifying us by our imperfections, bonding us by our faults and shortcomings and the things we refuse to examine.
