Description:
Alan Lescht & Associates, P.C., is a Washington, D.C., employment law firm that represents federal and private-sector workers. Our attorneys worked hard to earn undergraduate and law degrees, and we understand the value of education. We also understand that college can place a tremendous financial strain on both students and their families. As a result, we are offering a $1,000 ANNUAL scholarship to a current or prospective college student. The scholarship will be awarded to the winner of our essay contest.

In order to participate in our scholarship contest, you must meet the following criteria:

Currently attend or plan to attend a college or university during the 2016-2017 academic year
Be in good academic standing with his/her current educational institution
If under the age of 18, have permission from a parent/legal guardian
Special Criteria:
On or before OCTOBER 17, 2017, email the following to Alan Lescht & Associates, P.C., at [email protected]:

-Your name, address, and the name of the institution you attend or plan to attend during the 2016-2017 school year.
-An essay of no more than 750 words on the following topic:
Companies frequently require employees to sign non-disclosure agreements that prohibit the employee for going to work for a competitor, even if they are fired without cause. Should non-compete agreements be unlawful? Why or why not?
-After the application period closes, we will review all submissions and select a winning essay based on the following factors:
-Creativity;
-Persuasiveness; and
-Writing skills.
