Rent-A-Center, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice and RAC Acceptance customers, their spouses, and their dependent children as well as the dependent children of employees of Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice, RAC Acceptance, RAC National Product Service and RAC Field Support Center. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.
The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Make a Difference Scholarship Program must be:
•Current customers of Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice or RAC Acceptance in good standing, or •Customers within the past two years who are in good standing, or •Immediate family members* of the above customers, or •Dependents, age 25 or younger, of current Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice, RAC Acceptance, RAC National Product Service or RAC Field Support Center employees who have been continuously employed for at least one year on February 1, 2013.
*Immediate family members are defined as a spouse or dependent child living in the same household.
Applicants must live in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico for the entire upcoming academic year.
Applicants must be studying to obtain their first bachelor's degree.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale (or its equivalent).

How to Apply: Start by clicking on the Register to Apply link online. You will need to read and agree to a consent statement and register as an applicant. During the application process, you will be able to leave the site by clicking on the Save and Log Out button located on any application page. In order to return, you must enter your username and password as provided when registering for an application account. The application must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on February 1, 2013.
You may wish to gather the following information that will be needed for the application process:
•If a customer, spouse or child of a customer of Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice or RAC Acceptance, you'll need store information (store number, address, city, state). Applicants MUST provide the store number to apply. •If a child of a Rent-A-Center, Get It Now!, Home Choice, RAC Acceptance, RAC National Product Service or RAC Field Support Center employee, you'll need the employee's job title, work location, store number and employee number. •List of student’s work experience and involvement in school and community activities •Student’s transcript of grades and grading scale Carefully review your application before submission. We recommend you print a hard copy of your application for your records. Do not send a printed copy to Scholarship Management Services. All application pages with required fields must be completed in the format described in order to submit the application. Standard capitalization (Jill Smith, not JILL SMITH or jill smith) must be used when entering data. Once the application is submitted, no further revisions can be made.
Required Supporting Documents: Applicants must also send the following to Scholarship Management Services postmarked no later than February 1, 2013:
•A current, complete transcript of grades and grading scale. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken. You, the applicant, are responsible for gathering and submitting all required information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; answer all applicable questions as completely as possible. Your application is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship Management Services.
Applicants will receive an emailed confirmation when the electronic application is successfully submitted. Late submissions and incomplete application packages will not be considered. If the applicant does not receive acknowledgment that their application package is complete, it is the applicant's responsibility to contact Scholarship Management Services to check on their application's status.
