Children, birth through 11th grade, are eligible for the Future-Use Scholarship, pending standard eligibility requirements have been met and required documentation has been provided. Once awarded, the recipient will not apply for this scholarship again.
Scholarships will be used to subsidize the cost of tuition, school books, fees and other educational expenses when the recipient is ready to attend a college, university, technical school or certification program.
Each Future Use Scholarship awarded will be at the current value of the Immediate Use and Re-Apply Scholarship awards (currently at $5,000). This scholarship amount will be placed in a FHF Future Use Scholarship account to be invested in accordance with the FHF approved investment strategy. Future scholarship values will be determined by the FHF Board of Directors.
Each Future Use Scholarship recipient has until age 24 or six years after graduation from high school to use his/her award (whichever is greater).
Applicants will be notified via email regarding award decisions by the end of June each year. Please notify FHF at scholarships@foldsofhonor.org if any of your contact information changes.

The Future Use Scholarship is intended for children, birth through 11th grade and unmarried, of service members who meet these requirements:
Standard eligibility requirements must be met by the service member (one or more of these): An active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman killed or disabled in the line of duty. An active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman currently classified as a POW or MIA. A veteran who died of any cause after being classified as having a service-connected disability. A service member missing in action or captured by hostile forces in the line of duty. A service member forcibly detained or interned by a foreign government or power in the line of duty. A service member who received a Purple Heart Medal. (NOTE: This medal alone is not sufficient for Children’s Scholarship Fund qualification)

Interested individuals should fully complete and submit the following application as appropriate, as well as provide satisfactory evidence that he/she qualifies according to the existing eligibility requirements and required documentation. Each child must have a separate application submitted on his/her behalf.
