The Immediate Use Scholarship is intended for spouses and children who are currently attending or have been accepted into a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited, post secondary institution: university, college, technical school or certification program.
The Immediate Use Scholarship, if awarded, is applicable for one year; applicants must re-apply each year they wish to receive funding.
Upon award, scholarships are dispersed directly to the educational institution in two increments at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
NOTE: If you have children ages birth through 11th grade, he/she may qualify for a Future Use Scholarship.
Applicant must be accepted to an accredited, post-secondary education program: university, college, technical school or certification program Scholarships are to be used to subsidize the costs of tuition, school books, fees, on-campus or off-campus housing, on-campus board, special tools and equipment required for coursework, school-approved tutoring, and any other required educational expenses that are unmet.
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the school, and the standing policies and procedures of the school will guide the application of the funds to the student's educational expenses listed above. Funds will not be released directly to students.
Scholarship awards are up to $5,000 for the upcoming academic year based on your estimated financial needs provided in this application, not to exceed $2,500 per semester.
Applicants will be notified via email regarding award decisions by the end of June each year. FHF will also contact recipients at various times during the year. Please notify FHF at scholarships@foldsofhonor.org if any of your contact information changes.

Standard eligibility requirements must be met (one or more of these): An active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman killed or disabled in the line of duty. An active duty or reserve soldier, sailor, airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman currently classified as a POW or MIA. A veteran who died of any cause after being classified as having a service-connected disability. A service member missing in action or captured by hostile forces in the line of duty. A service member forcibly detained or interned by a foreign government or power in the line of duty. A service member who received a Purple Heart Medal. (NOTE: This medal alone is not sufficient for Children’s Scholarship Fund qualification

Interested individuals should fully complete and submit the following application as appropriate, as well as provide satisfactory evidence that he/she qualifies according to the existing eligibility requirements and required documentation. Each applicant must have a separate application submitted on his/her behalf.
