Want to take classes year-round, but don't know how to pay for it?

It used to be that if you enrolled full-time Summer, Fall and Winter terms, that there was no more Federal Pell Grant eligibility during Spring term.

New as of '09 Summer term, the maximum value of a Federal Pell Grant is going up to $5350 (assumes $0 Expected Family Contribution) and may be available year-round!  Students who are eligible for a need-based Federal Pell Grant who attend more than three, full-time terms, may be eligible for up to 1/3 of their annual Pell for EVERY term they enroll.

  • Example 1:  If you enroll in at least 12 credits at RCC during the Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring terms, you may qualify for as much as $7134 in Pell (4-thirds of $5350)!  or,

  • Example 2:  If you attend full-time at RCC during ’09 Summer and then transfer to SOU as a full-time student for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer terms (the last term in their 09/10 academic year), you may qualify for as much as $8917 (5-thirds of $5350) in Pell for the 09/10 school year

Eligibility criteria such as minimum enrollment levels has yet to be confirmed.  RCC is making awards in good faith and will notify students as soon as further clarification is obtained.
