RCC Home > Student Services > Financial Aid > Applying for a Loan

Welcome to RCC’s student loan application process
for the 2009-2010 school year (’09 Summer through ’10 Spring terms):

This application process will result in
     DEBT that YOU must repay.

  1. Be informed.  Read carefully.  Understand your options and responsibilities.

  2. If you must borrow, do so responsibly as a wise investment in your future (persist in your studies until you complete your program and are ready for qualified entry into your career).
  3. Borrow only what you NEED, after you exhaust all other resources (agency benefits, grant aid, scholarship aid, part-time employment, etc.).

  4. Know your budget (current and future), have clear career goals, research your earning potential and make a commitment to complete your educational goals.   Otherwise, borrowing can easily lead to financial hardship.

    1.  If you need help with your major or career planning, see your Advisor.
    2. Click here for a spending plan worksheet (budgeting tool).
    3. Visit EdWise for an online financial planning guide.

Federal Stafford Loans (FSL); subsidized and unsubsidized, are available to qualifying students under the Federal Family of Educational Loans (FFEL) program. You are eligible to apply for a FSL after you have been issued an Award Letter or Eligibility Notification from RCC’s Financial Aid Office for the 2009-10 school year, letting you know what grants, scholarships, potential student employment earnings and/or educational resources are available and before the following term application deadlines:

’09 Summer August 13 2009
’09 Fall November 25 2009
’10 Winter March 5 2010
