Rusty R. Riis
EMS Clinical Coordinator
Rusty found his passion and desire for EMS while still in high school in 2000. While finishing high school during the day, he found himself taking fire and EMT classes at night; still working his family's farm in between. Coming from a family background in the timber industry, EMS was the one field Rusty felt passionate about pursuing.
Though Rusty's passion is treating the patients in his community, he has found that through education his love for EMS can be passed on to his students in order to even better serve the communities where we live and serve. Rusty describes his philosophy as "We started creating our EMS legacy on day one; time is ticking".
When not at the college or working on the ambulance, Rusty enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and landscaping. He enjoys EMS competitions, and "who doesn't love a good roller coaster?"
