Event title: Shakespeare showcase
Description: RCC’s Fundamentals of Acting class on Riverside campus will offer three performances of selected scenes from the plays of William Shakespeare on March 14 -18. See RCC students portray characters of Shakespeare’s plays such as Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado about Nothing, Juliet and the Nurse from Romeo and Juliet, and Viola and Olivia from Twelfth Night. The show is framed by outrageous humor the “rude mechanicals” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream as they end the show with their hilarious “play within a play.” All shows are free and open to the public. Come support RCC students as they embrace the language of Shakespeare!

Working completely without a script, the courageous team of players will perform improv games, scenes, and poems inspired by suggestions from the audience. The improv shows are fun for the whole family and have become a wonderful tradition at RCC. It’s funny and it’s free! Admission: All performances are free!

Event title: Individualized Career Training Department Information Session
Description:

Find Your Career Path Through Individualized Career Training at RCC
RCC is offering a free information session for anyone interested in learning about our Individualized Career Training department. The meeting will be Friday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to noon, in Building CH-8, on RCC’s Redwood Campus, 3345 Redwood Highway.

Not every job requires a specific certification or course of study. At Rogue Community College (RCC) the Individualized Career Training (ICT) department creates custom built training programs to help get people get into a great career with the job of their dreams.

ICT has certificate programs offering a wide variety of career opportunities not found elsewhere at RCC. New training options are added on a regular basis, and staff may be able to custom design a training program related to an individual student's specific interests. It uses the community as the classroom for hands-on learning in a variety of career fields chosen to extend offerings while not overlapping with other RCC programs. To apply for the program, candidates must first attend one of these free monthly information sessions. The sessions are only one hour and open to all current and potential students. The information provided is designed to help students determine whether this is the right educational path for them. Event title: Winter Concert Traditional American Songs and Olde Time Music
Description: Go back in time for a couple of hours and join us for a concert of music from America's past on Saturday afternoon, March 18, at 3:00 pm in the Rogue Auditorium. The RCC Redwood Community Chorus will be joined by the Rogue Singers, the Grants Pass Children's Choir and the Silver Strings for a concert of songs including Aaron Copland’s "Stomp Your Foot" and traditional songs like "Shenandoah", "Home on the Range", "I Bought Me A Cat", "All the Pretty Little Horses", "The Old Chisholm Trail", "Button Up Your Overcoat", and "When You're Smiling". The Silver Strings will provide some lively “olde time fiddlin’ music” as well. We'll end with a few sing-along songs, but you might find yourself humming along for most of the concert!
