Description: RCC’s Diversity Programming Board invites students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in our letter writing campaign for those currently serving in the military. Event title: Mindfulness Skills Group for RCC Students--RVC
Description: Mindfulness Skills Group is a six-week long group. Participants will learn and practice mindfulness skills. The group will meet noon-12:50 pm Tuesdays from Oct. 23-Nov 27. Group members will learn how to reduce the daily struggle in their lives, accept thoughts and feelings and become more present. The group will cover exercises such as mindfulness meditation, ways to disentangle from our thoughts, as well as education on what science has to say on mindfulness and the brain.

Event title: College Night Oregon RVC & RWC
Description: Whether you are planning to attend college or simply evaluating your options, you won't want to miss this free informational night for college-bound high school seniors and juniors. RCC and College Dreams staff will presents workshops on topics such as admissions, financial aid, and scholarships. The event includes free pizza and soda, college-planning tips and a chance to win a $500 scholarship.

Event title: Religions and spirituality panel discussion--RVC HEC
Description: Representatives from a variety of spiritual and religious beliefs, including Buddhism, Paganism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and American Indian (Potawatomi), will give presentations on their belief systems and then answer questions on their traditions, practices, values, beliefs and holidays. The public is invited to this free event; light refreshments will be provided.

Event title: EMO-RCC's 11th annual Educacion, Un Mundo de Oportunidades (Education, A World of Opportunities) conference
Description: Designed for Latino high school juniors and seniors. Sponsored in part by RCC’s Club La-tino, the one-day conference brings together Hispanic students from Jackson and Josephine counties to provide information about post-secondary education and training opportunities. There is no cost to students. Workshops and speakers will cover college-related topics including admissions, academic resume preparation, and financial aid applications. RCC students, graduates and community leaders will help motivate young students and provide strategies for overcoming current obstacles in accessing college and challenges in the future. Registration is limited to 200 students and fills up quickly every year. Students are encouraged to register online at www.roguecc.edu/ClubLatino/EMO.asp
