Event title: Day Trip Cross Country Skiing Snow Tubing
Description: ***Please read all of this and follow registration instructions! The Outdoor Adventure Club is planning a day trip to Diamond Lake Resort to play in the snow! All attendees will meet at the resort’s “Hilltop Shop” at 9am to rent skis, and then decide as a group which trails to explore. There are miles of trails to choose from for all experience and ability levels, and we’ll pick a route that is appropriate for everyone in the group. We will be doing cross country skiing, which is the sport of skiing over the countryside rather than on steep downhill runs. Ski rental is $25 and includes boots and poles. Each participant is responsible for bringing skis or paying for rentals. After a beautiful ride on the trails, we will decide as a group where to have lunch (Resort Café, Mt. Bailey Grill and Sports Lounge, or ski over to South Shore Pizza). Pack a lunch or bring money. Following lunch, we will head over to the tubing hill. At the tubing hill, get a tube and purchase tow tickets. There is a tow rope that pulls you to the top of the hill. Then you hop on your tube and plunge downward towards the bottom of the hill, giggle hysterically, and repeat. Tube and tow rope is $10 and tow tickets are .50¢ each. The tubing hill is the last activity of the day. There will be so set time to leave, as it is up to each person and the group they may have carpooled with to decide when to depart. All students, faculty, and community members are encouraged to attend. Grab a friend and come play in the snow. To find out what you should wear and what to bring with you, check the Ski/Snowboarding “What to Pack” list on our Facebook Files or click on Ski/Snowboarding on the About Us page on our RCC web pages. (If this list is not posted yet, check back in a few days) If you join the event on Facebook, feel free to see who is willing to carpool. The club will not be providing transportation.
