Event title: Human Service program information session
Description: Discover if a human services career match your goals when you attend a free human services program information session from 5-7 p.m. at the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center at 101 S. Bartlett St. in Medford on the following dates:

  • February 21 in room HEC 222
  • March 14 in room HEC 225

Attending an information session is a required step in the application procedure for the Human Services limited-entry program; however, the information session is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the program.

Applications for the fall 2018 cohort are due on April 16, 2018, by 5 p.m. 

Human services workers provide a wide range of emotional and practical support to help people get through difficult times. The RCC Human Services program provides the training and experience you need to enter this rewarding and demanding field. Program advisers will assist you in deciding which program is right for you based on your interests, aptitudes, and career goals.

An associate degree in human services prepares students for entry-level employment in such areas as child and family services, mental health, social services, addictions counseling, aging and rehabilitation, including group and community work at the public and private level.

Event title: Auditions
Description:

RCC’s Theatre Arts program is pleased to announce plans for production of
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare in the black box theatre on Riverside campus. The play will run three weekends during spring term from May 18- June 3. Rehearsals begin April 1. RCC students, faculty, alumni and community members are welcome to audition.

Auditions will be held in two rounds on Wednesday, February 21 and Monday, February 26 at 5:30 in C-109. It will be a group audition, starting at 5:30 with everyone. If anyone wants to try out, but cannot make these dates, they may set up an appointment with the director.

To audition, prepare a memorized monologue from a Shakespeare play, about one minute in length. Participants will do theatre warm-ups some movement exercises together before presenting monologues. There is a small amount of singing in the show, so those auditioning may be asked to sing a simple song a cappella.
