||Have you ever seen the rock wall in the RCC gym and wondered how to use it? Here is your chance to give it a try! The Outdoor Adventure Club is hosting a workshop for those interested in learning how to climb the wall. We will go over gear and safety for climbing indoors, and then have some hands on practice. No climbing experience is required and all gear is provided.
Don't think you're strong enough? Think again. You don't need to be buff or an athlete to climb. Average build? You'll do great!
Join this event if you are interested in learning the basics of indoor rock climbing. There is a $5 suggested donation, and you must sign a liability form to participate. We will be having our monthly club meeting halfway through this event in an effort to encourage students to look at joining the club for more adventure. After the brief meeting, we will have open climb time to practice newly learned skills.
To register for this event, go to our RCC webpages at www.roguecc.edu/outdoorclub and register for this event so that we know how many to expect. You may also join the event on our Facebook group at www.facebook.com/groups/rccoutdooradventureclub. Students, faculty, and community members are welcome. Bring your friends and try it together!
If you don't have climbing shoes - and as a beginner you probably don't - just wear snug tennies. Converse shoes work surprisingly well because the rubber sticks really good. Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in.
Feel free to contact the club through Facebook or email with any questions about the event. Climb on!
