Demographics

Rogue Community College has been a power force for quality of life in the region since 1970. Its mission--to assure success to each of its students--has nurtured hope for thousands of people, filled educational gaps, and empowered many throughout the region to change their lives.

Through teaching and service, the college has provided leadership and enriched the community by embracing equality and diversity. Further, the college has anticipated change and taken the necessary risks to assure access to all learners.

Originally constructed in the late 1960s as a Job Corps training center, the RCC Redwood Campus has undergone considerable remodeling and transformation. Located five miles west of Grants Pass on 84-woodede acres, the spacious campus has grown to encompass 215,000 square feet and includes many classrooms and modern laboratory space.

In jackson County, the college plays a key role in the educational and cultural renaissance occurring in the heart of Medford. RCC has developed the Riverside Campus, an eight-building complex in downtown Medford totaling about 115,000 square feet. The college leases seven of these sites. In 2000, the college purchased and extensively renovated the historic former Montgomery Wards building in the downtown area, used now for classrooms and college services.

RCC also leases 12,000 square feet from the Jackson County Central Library in Downtown Medford.

In 2004 Jackson County voters approved a $24 million bond levy. The college is using this funding to purchase permanent sites in downtown Medford, replacing leased facilities, and to renovate the new Table Rock Campus in White City, which opened fall term 2005.

The 105,000-square-foot Table Rock Campus houses professional technical programs such as diesel technology, construction, manufacturing, electronics, public safety and apprenticeships.

RCC also offers classes at the Small Business Development Center in Grants Pass, and the Illinois Valley Learning Center in Kerby.
